Background

Mark Buntaine is an Assistant Professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management and the Department of Political Science at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and ARC Team Leader for the Environment and Climate Change. His research investigates the political economy of governance and environmental management in developing countries. Mark received his PhD from Duke University in 2011. Supported by the US National Science Foundation, he led a team of researchers who coded every World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and African Development Bank project completed since 1990 on a set of environmental performance indicators.
