Sailor Miao is an Associate Program Manager on AidData's TUFF team. He assists the team's tracking of underreported financial flows by conducting data quality assurance and contributing to data analysis. Sailor specifically focuses on financial flows to high-income countries and the loan performance tool.

B.A., Government and Hispanic Studies, William & Mary

Before joining AidData, Sailor graduated summa cum laude from William & Mary with a BA in Government and Hispanic Studies. At W&M, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, selected for the J. Worth Banner Awards as well as the McGlennon Scholarship, and served in the William & Mary Choir for three years. Sailor worked for three years on AidData's Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF) team as a student Research Assistant, including as a Management Research Assistant. Sailor was also a GRI Summer Fellow to the United Nations Development Programme in New York City in 2023. In addition, Sailor and two co-authors’ paper on biosecurity was selected as one of the finalists for NTI’s Next Generation Biosecurity paper competition.
