Sam is the Communications Associate on AidData's Partnerships and Communications team. He works to promote the lab’s novel research with multimedia products in order to serve as a bridge between the research community and policy makers. Sam produces explainer videos about AidData’s flagship projects, designs recurring social media campaigns, and edits an upcoming AidData research podcast!

B.S., Psychological Sciences with a Minor in Film & Media Studies, William & Mary, 2024.

Sam took a circuitous path to this position at AidData. As a dedicated researcher, Sam won the Ampersand Award–given to research projects that “lead to impactful, outward-facing research”--to fund his Honors thesis, won 2nd place in the inaugural Thesis in Three competition, and was awarded the Joseph Galano Award for Excellence in Community Service by Department of Psychological Science upon graduation. As an enthusiastic media producer, Sam served as an Audio Visual assistant at W&M, interned with the Virginia Association of Broadcasters, and earned a Meyers-Stern Scholarship to support his upcoming documentary. Looking for a position that was intellectually stimulating, altruistic, and which would allow for creative production, Sam found AidData!
