Background
Prior to joining AidData, Pratap graduated with a Master of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University, where he was a College of Arts and Sciences Fellow. As a graduate student at Vanderbilt, he studied various methods that are used in applied microeconomics research, with a particular focus on experimental and quasi-experimental techniques.
Over the years, Pratap has also participated in research on topics ranging from the American commodity futures market to higher education in the US. Most recently, he worked as a Research Intern at the Brookings Institution, where he assisted Dr. Sarah Reber in studying and analyzing interventions that have been implemented in US universities to improve degree persistence and completion rates among students, especially those who belong to marginalized communities.
