This dataset includes all geocoded projects from the Government of Senegal’s Aid Information Management System (AIMS), which is called the Aid Management Platform (AMP), or Plateforme de Gestion des Financements Extérieurs du Sénégal (PGFE) in French. The AMP was first implemented in Senegal in 208 through a partnership between the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Planning’s (Ministère de l'Economie, des Finances et du Plan, in French) Directorate for Economic and Financial Cooperation (Direction de la Coopération Economique et Financière (DCEF) in French) and a technical provider, Development Gateway (DG). The geocoded data were collected through direct engagement by DG and AidData with the DCEF and the country offices of its development partners, which submitted the locational information for their projects.
This dataset tracks $7,273,001,845.41 in commitments and $3,371,385,247.41 in disbursements for 406 geocoded projects across 1,124 locations between 2000 and 2012. Locations of projects in Senegal's AMP were geocoded using information gathered from in-country donor offices. The included "project.csv," "locations.csv," and "transactions.csv" files are structured so as to be combinable with other v1.0 geocoded dataset releases.
