Mike Tierney is the George and Mary Hylton Professor of Government and International Relations at the College of William & Mary, and co-directs the Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations. His interests include international organizations, international relations theory, political economy of development and institutions, and foreign aid.
Todd Smith is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Reno. He received his PhD in public policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin in 2015. His dissertation examined the causal link between rising food prices and political protest in Africa, specifically South Africa. Todd's other research interests are in poverty reduction, sustainable development, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, food security and African politics. He has traveled extensively in throughout Africa and has worked for Doctors Without Borders in Ethiopia, Impumelelo Social Innovations Centre in South Africa, and the International Food Policy Research Institute in Uganda.
